The second phase was the lift and shift of the existing AWS-based infrastructure to GCP without any modification. This strategy was chosen to minimize downtime and quickly leverage GCP’s fully managed, secure, and scalable environment. The migration involved key Google services:

  • Cloud Load Balancing: To manage large spikes in traffic and ensure high availability.
  • Google Compute Engine: For scalable and secure VMs.
  • Cloud SQL: For fully-managed database services.
  • Cloud Storage: For high-performance object storage.

The use of these services allowed Spark Compass to maintain its operational excellence during the transition, showcasing the strength of GCP’s infrastructure capabilities.

Post-Migration Benefits and Future Plans
